![]() The result was that we Ubered to and from the resort and then took up the time of the valet staff by having them drive us around in the house car, which often involved a wait. In contrast the *Ritz Carlton* Lake Reynolds, has free valet parking included in the resort fee, which is only ~$10 more. On top of a resort fee that was over $54/day, they then charge $50/day for valet parking. Let's start with the complaints, and end nicely. ![]() Overall, would I recommend this hotel? I'd say yes-particularly for families-if one is looking to vacation in the Miami area.… The "Ladies and Gentlemen" of this Ritz Carlton are very well-trained overall and really make up for other areas of lesser strength. Ionnes at dinner (hope I'm spelling his name right) was the epitome of professionalism. Food at Lighthouse was decent-very expensive but good service. Thanks, Jay-you're the man and set a great tone for being welcomed by the hotel! Pools were nice as well and while the beach was small/narrow (as others have mentioned) it did almost give me a Cancun-vibe (which is by far my favorite beach area) so kudos there as well. (Major improvement from the previous "Asprey" brand which was made in China.) The staff though were very friendly and pleasant-a real asset for the hotel! I booked using the Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts' program and Jay at the front desk gave me a wonderful upgrade to an executive suite which was several levels above what I had booked. (It did have a few random strands of hair from previous guests here and there along with lots of "crumbs" or debris in the halls which indicate a need for better cleaning.) On the other hand, the bed was extremely comfortable and of course I love the wonderful-smelling Diptyque amenities which are the new brand standard at Ritz Carlton hotels. With that said, though, other than replacing the somewhat-stained rugs, there was nothing that was actually straight up bad about the room. They're not bad by any means-just pretty basic. As others have mentioned-the hotel's rooms are fairly underwhelming and not too stylish. Overall, a strong hotel here but not perfect and a person should know this before going in and spending the money for this expensive of a place.
